What can pre-normative research do for industry?
VAMAS (the Versailles Project on Advanced Materials and Standards) can be understood as the “antechamber of ISO”, more exactly a pre-standardisation platform open to collaborative projects aimed at providing the technical basis for internationally harmonized measurements, testing, specifications, and standards.
This Regional Workshop is thought as the first of a series of annual VAMAS meetings at BAM to inform the advanced materials community of manufacturers and analysts in Germany (not exclusively) about ongoing and planned projects as well to discuss possible participation and, ideally, take in consideration proposals of new projects. Actual and future topics of strategic relevance such as nanoparticles, 2D materials, micro- and nanoplastics, batteries, thin films and coatings, or polymer nanocomposites will be presented in detail.
